The Wonderful World of Tony Blair

Since resigning in June 2007, Tony Blair has financially enriched himself more than any previous ex-prime minister. Reporter Peter Oborne reveals some of the sources of his new-found wealth, much of which comes from the Middle East.

On the day Tony Blair resigned as Prime Minister, he was appointed the official representative Envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East. By January 2009 he had set up Tony Blair Associates – his international consultancy – which handles multi-million-pound contracts in the Middle East. It is so secretive we don’t know all the locations in which they do business.

Dispatches (Channel 4) shows that at the same time as Blair is visiting Middle East leaders in his Quartet role he is receiving vast sums from some of them. If Blair represented the UK government, the EU, the IMF, the UN or the World Bank, this would not be permitted.

He would also have to declare his financial interests and be absolutely transparent about his financial dealings. But no such stringent rules govern the Quartet envoy.

However, he could opt to abide by the rules and principles of public life. They were introduced by John Major, and Tony Blair endorsed and strengthened them for all holders of public office – but chooses not to himself.

To Regain World Respect, US Must Dump Israel

The US government has lost the world’s respect. When Obama calls on the world to wage war on Syria, the world says “no thank you.” When the US orders its Syrian rebel mercenaries to go to Geneva, the mercenaries refuse.

When the US orders its “good mercenaries” (the Free Syrian Army) to disavow the “bad mercenaries” (the al-Qaeda Takfiris) neither pays any attention. And when it orders the “good mercenaries” to join the so-called Syrian National Coalition, they laugh in America’s face.

When mercenaries flout the orders of their paymasters, the paymasters are being disrespected.

Another band of mercenaries that has lost respect for its American paymasters is the Egyptian army. The new Pharaoh of Egypt, General al-Sisi, is ignoring pathetic whimpers about human rights and democracy emanating from Washington, DC. Al-Sisi, who hails from a Moroccan Jewish background and is rumored to be an Israeli agent, continues to butcher peaceful protestors as he establishes a dictatorship whose viciousness and autocracy are far beyond anything Mubarak ever dreamed of.

Al-Sisi’s coup was approved in Tel Aviv, not Washington DC. The Israelis assured al-Sisi that they own Washington, DC, so he shouldn’t worry about the Americans cutting off the billions of dollars al-Sisi is getting from the US taxpayer. During and since the coup, al-Sisi has been in non-stop contact with his Israeli handlers, who appear to be the real power governing Egypt … just as they are the real power in Washington, DC.

Might the Israeli occupation of Washington, DC have something to do with America’s loss of respect throughout the world?

A disastrous series of wars in the Middle East has bankrupted America. The real cost of these wars is in the trillions of dollars. The American economy is a shambles. The government went into shutdown mode, then emerged on life-support. The whole world is astonished by the pathetic spectacle of the world’s supposed sole superpower on the verge of collapse.

Were the wars that have bankrupted the US fought for Israel – not for any conceivable US interest?

If we ask “who gains” from America’s 9/11 wars, the answer is obvious: The real beneficiary is Israel, not the United States.

International War Criminals

Press TV‘s documentary program “International War Criminals” looks at the legal bases of the US and UK led invasion of Iraq in 2003 through an interview with the renowned international criminal law expert, Francis Boyle.

The terrorist events of 9/11 led to drastic changes in the US foreign policy, especially with regard to the Middle East. Under the pretext of fighting terrorism, the US and UK invaded Afghanistan in 2001. Two years later on March 20th, 2003, they launched a military invasion on Iraq. Apart from the fact that these invasions were illegitimate under international law, the war crimes committed by occupying troops in these countries gave new dimensions to international law violations by the US, its key ally the UK, their senior officials, and above all, George W. Bush and Tony Blair.

Despite the wide range of war crimes during the US and UK’s invasion on Iraq and Afghanistan, the United Nations Security Council did not take any measures for prosecuting the main criminals, Bush and Blair. Therefore, political considerations along with the interests of the governments are the determining factors in conducting criminal investigations and holding court sessions. Meanwhile, it cannot be denied that the establishment of such courts plays a significant role in the development of the contemporary international law. Certainly, the trial of Bush and Blair would greatly contribute to the prevention of wars and war crimes in the future and ensuring peaceful co-existence among states and nations.

Manufacturing Dissent: The Truth About Syria

Manufacturing Dissent is a documentary posthumously dedicated to Syrian-Palestinian actor Mohamad Rafea, who was kidnapped, tortured and finally brutally murdered on Sunday November 4th 2012 by terrorist groups that have been set loose on the country since the US, UK and their western and Gulf State allies launched a covert war in Syria in early 2011, dressed up by the media as a “revolution.” The words spoken in this video by Rafea, and the courage he shows here, is why he was murdered.

Manufacturing Dissent is a feature about the psychological warfare by the media and political establishment of the west and their allies aimed at facilitating the US, European and Israeli agenda of getting rid of the current Syrian government. It demonstrates how the media has directly contributed to the bloodshed in Syria.

Manufacturing Dissent includes evidence of fake reports broadcasted/published by the likes of CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and others and interviews with a cross section of the Syrian population including an actor, a craftsman, a journalist, a resident from Homs and an activist who have all been affected by the crisis.

The World According to Monsanto

There’s nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it – it’s strategic. It’s more powerful than bombs. It’s more powerful than guns. This is the best way to control the populations of the world.

The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the “revolving door”. One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company’s vice president for public policy.

Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market. Monsanto’s long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence.

Miko Peled was born in Jersusalem into a famous and influential Israeli Zionist family. His father was a General in the Israeli Army, of which Miko also served his time. When Miko’s niece was killed by Palestinian suicide bombers, you may have expected the family to put Palestinians at fault, but surprisingly they blamed the state of Israel, and their violent torturing and persecution for driving people to such sadness that they would take their own lives.

Through his father’s deep knowledge of the Israeli war of terror, together with his own research, Miko Peled ruins the myths surrounding the Israel and Palestine situation, and delivers a truth so damning that many Jews and Israel supporters will not be able to bear it. ScareMail – How to Disrupt NSA’s Spy Programs

An Illinois man has developed a Gmail browser extension designed to randomly insert fake, nonsensical stories into the signature of every email one sends to confuse the NSA’s surveillance operations.

Benjamin Grosser says “ScareMail” takes keywords from an extensive US Department of Homeland Security list used to troll social media websites and utilizes them “to disrupt the NSA’s surveillance efforts by making NSA search results useless.”

The buzzwords include the likes of “Al-Qaeda” and “Al-Shabab,” yet also more mundane terms like “breach,” “threat,” “death” and “hostage,” among many others.

Documents released by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden revealed that the NSA uses the “selector” terms to sift through Internet data it collects via a tool known as “X-KEYSCORE.”

“If every email contains the word ‘plot,’ or ‘facility,’ for example, then searching for those words becomes a fruitless exercise. A search that returns everything is a search that returns nothing of use,” Grosser says.

Grosser, 43, said the extension tool, which took him about three weeks to build, is a form of protest in that he hopes it will overwhelm or frustrate the agency’s programs with superfluous information.
