‘US Doesn’t Understand What It’s Doing in Syria’ – CIA Veteran

The skies above Syria are crowded with military planes from various nations. However, the non-stop bombardment of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) seems to be producing nothing in return. The group still maintains the ability to strike anytime, anywhere – even in the US. And while Western nations along with Russia are trying to destroy IS, some of America’s alleged “allies” in the region seem to be playing their own game. Can a war be won in such conditions? Can progress be made if only some are committed to end the fighting? We pose these questions, and many more, to an ex-CIA agent and counter-terrorism expert. Philip Giraldi is on Sophie&Co today.

Shaker Aamer: Outside the Box (Exclusive Interview with RT)

Shaker Aamer, who spent over a decade in Guantanamo bay, has talked to RT about how the prison works and why the detainees have not been prosecuted after 14 years of confinement. Here are his best quotes from the interview:

On the prosecution of detainees
Saudi born UK citizen Aamer, who was held in Gitmo from 2002 until October of last year, explained that the government cannot prosecute the detainees because “it will show the failure of intelligence services” as they cannot prove that the detainees “did anything wrong.”

On how Gitmo operates
“Guantanamo is being run by one concept – how to destroy a human being,” he told RT. “Guantanamo is not a detention facility, it’s not like a normal jail,” he said, adding that it is “run by psychologists, by psychiatrists,” who know how to “manipulate.”

On torture
Apart from the physical torture, he said there is also “mental torture.”

“They know nothing will affect us more than insulting our religion. Nothing will make us break like grabbing our Holy Koran and throwing it in front of us or just opening it …searching it.”

“You are talking about people who are very loyal to their religion, truthful believers.”

On ‘enhanced interrogation’
US officials have decided to call the new methods of interrogation used in Guantanamo “enhanced techniques,” he said, adding that these include keeping an inmate standing for 18 hours and rectal-feeding.

“If they are willing to do this to us, they are willing to it against their own people one day.”

On Gitmo staff
The American military “professionally diverts” the public’s attention away from Gitmo to prevent them from learning the truth, he said. American soldiers working in the facility are “victims of circumstances,” he added, urging the soldiers’ families to call them back home in order to force the facility’s closure.

The Criminal Organisation of the US Government

The Proof Is In: The US Government Is The Most Complete Criminal Organization In Human History

By Paul Craig Roberts

Unique among the countries on earth, the US government insists that its laws and dictates take precedence over the sovereignty of nations. Washington asserts the power of US courts over foreign nationals and claims extra-territorial jurisdiction of US courts over foreign activities of which Washington or American interest groups disapprove. Perhaps the worst results of Washington’s disregard for the sovereignty of countries is the power Washington has exercised over foreign nationals solely on the basis of terrorism charges devoid of any evidence.

Consider a few examples. Washington first forced the Swiss government to violate its own banking laws. Then Washington forced Switzerland to repeal its bank secrecy laws. Allegedly, Switzerland is a democracy, but the country’s laws are determined in Washington by people not elected by the Swiss to represent them.

Consider the “soccer scandal” that Washington concocted, apparently for the purpose of embarrassing Russia. The soccer organization’s home is Switzerland, but this did not stop Washington from sending FBI agents into Switzerland to arrest Swiss citizens. Try to imagine Switzerland sending Swiss federal agents into the US to arrest Americans.

Consider the $9 billion fine that Washington imposed on a French bank for failure to fully comply with Washington’s sanctions against Iran. This assertion of Washington’s control over a foreign financial institution is even more audaciously illegal in view of the fact that the sanctions Washington imposed on Iran and requires other sovereign countries to obey are themselves strictly illegal. Indeed, in this case we have a case of triple illegality as the sanctions were imposed on the basis of concocted and fabricated charges that were lies.

Or consider that Washington asserted its authority over the contract between a French shipbuilder and the Russian government and forced the French company to violate a contract at the expense of billions of dollars to the French company and a large number of jobs to the French economy. This was a part of Washington teaching the Russians a lesson for not following Washington’s orders in Crimea.

Try to imagine a world in which every country asserted the extra-territoriality of its law. The planet would be in permanent chaos with world GDP expended in legal and military battles.

Former US Marine: I Helped Create ISIS

An Iraqi family tasting what former US President Bush called “Operation Iraqi Freedom”. After 14 years of War on Terror the West is great at fomenting barbarism and creating failed states.

By Vincent Emanuele

For the last several years, people around the world have asked, “Where did ISIS come from?” Explanations vary, but largely focus on geopolitical (U.S. hegemony), religious (Sunni-Shia), ideological (Wahhabism) or ecological (climate refugees) origins. Many commentators and even former military officials correctly suggest that the war in Iraq is primarily responsible for unleashing the forces we now know as ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, etc. Here, hopefully I can add some useful reflections and anecdotes.

When I was stationed in Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 2003-2005, I didn’t know what the repercussions of the war would be, but I knew there would be a reckoning. That retribution, otherwise known as blowback, is currently being experienced around the world (Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, France, Tunisia, California, and so on), with no end in sight.

Back then, I routinely saw and participated in obscenities. Of course, the wickedness of the war was never properly recognized in the West. Without question, antiwar organizations attempted to articulate the horrors of the war in Iraq, but the mainstream media, academia and political-corporate forces in the West never allowed for a serious examination of the greatest war crime of the 21st century.

Vincent Emanuele Interviewed on RT America

Marine veteran Vincent Emanuele, who spent years fighting in Iraq, penned a scathing article titled ‘I Helped Create ISIS,’ which documents how American foreign policy, the War on Terror,’ and military power, as well as religious and tribal schisms in the Middle East, have played into the growth of the terrorist organization. Emanuele speaks with RT’s Anya Parampil about his article and what made him want to inform Americans.

A Message from George Orwell to the Internet

Hello friends. Giordano here with a little video I made while you await new content on The Juice Media. Unlike you, George Orwell became highly impatient with the hiatus on the channel and so he made me upload this special announcement about the Internet and your online rights… which he wants you all to heed very, very carefully.

Ta-da! Superhero Erdogan Miraculously Comes to the Rescue

One poor fellow in Turkey – who reportedly had family problems – was lucky enough to find himself on the same bridge and at the same time as president Recep Erdogan had been traveling through it. The man was talked out of a suicide attempt, media reported.

In a video released on Christmas day, the presidential motorcade is seen on Istanbul’s Bosphorus Bridge – at the very same time that a man appears to be standing on it behind the guard rail, facing the bay.

The footage, which was shot by Dogan news agency, shows Erdogan’s bodyguards coming up to the man, apparently telling him that the Turkish president is in the car and he should go over to him.

The man – still moving behind the rail – looks confused, and the bodyguards are seen trying to convince him that “yes, it’s true, that’s the president over there.”

Eventually, he climbs over to the safe side of the bridge and – quite convincingly – is directed towards a black Mercedes by a group of presidential aides. Several cameramen filming the miraculous meeting and photographers’ flashes can be seen in the video.

Erdoğan, Salman and the Coming ‘Sunni’ War for Oil

King Salman of Saudi Arabia

By F. William Engdahl

On December 15, Saudi Arabian Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman announced the formation of what he called an “Islamic Anti-Terror Coalition.” Officially it will be headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Salman, refusing to be concrete as to which “terrorists” he has in mind targeting with military action, declared his coalition would “go after” terrorists in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Afghanistan.

The list of 34 coalition members, besides Saudi Arabia, includes Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Somalia, Guinea, the Palestinian National Authority, the Union of the Comoros, Cote d ‘Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Maldives, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Yemen. Ten other Islamic countries, including Indonesia, have expressed their support.

Saudi’s Prince Salman stated in an official release that the 34 Sunni states will act, “to counteract terrorism, which became a threat to the interests of the Islamic nation, on the basis of the right of peoples for self-defense.” The term Islamic nation might be better translated as Islamic State as in IS.

Notable about this Saudi coalition of her Sunni allied states across the Islamic world is the complete absence of any states of the Shi’ite Islam group including Iran, Iraq and of course, Bashar al Assad’s Syria.

The name of the coalition, the Islamic Anti-Terror Coalition, is also notable. Sounding suspiciously like the terminology of Russia’s quite different war against anti-regime terrorist groups in Syria, the Saudis do not consider DAESH to be terrorists. They are made up of a significant number of Wahhabite Saudi nationals and financed with Saudi money to a major degree, as well as Qatari money, in order to topple the Assad regime and make way for a Saudi-controlled entity ruling Syria, or, at least, a major part of its oil regions. For the Saudis, those who support the “infidel” Assad are the real “terrorists.”

[…]

Erdoğan’s Turkish military and most especially his Turkish intelligence, MIT, headed by close crony, Hakan Fidan, is playing a key role in the planned Saudi-Turk-Qatari coalitions move to destroy the regime of Assad and at the same time seize control for them of the rich oil fields of Iraq between Mosul and Kirkuk.

In an October 18, 2015 interview with the Turkish news agency, Anadoly, Fidan stated the open Turkish support for DAESH: “The Islamic Emirate [IS-w.e.] is a reality and we must accept that we cannot eradicate a well-organized and popular institution as the Islamic State is. Therefore, I urge my colleagues in the West to revise their mindset on Islamic political currents, to put aside their cynical mentality and thwart Putin plans to crush the Islamist Syrian revolutionaries.” In other words, for Turkey as for Saudi Arabia, DAESH is not a terrorist organization, nor Al Nusrah Front, rather they are “Islamist Syrian revolutionaries” fighting the “infidel” Assad regime and its Russian ally. Hakan Fidan’s involvement in the illegal downing of the Russian SU-24 in November in Syrian airspace is indication of what will come.

Not only is Erdoğan’s son, Bilal Erdoğan, involved in illegally exporting the stolen Iraqi and Syrian oil. Erdoğan’s son-in-law, Berat Albayrak, was named by the President to be Turkish Energy Minister the day after the Turkish shooting of the SU-24, and it was Turkish Grey Wolves terrorists in Syria who murdered the SU-24 Russian pilot that Erdoğan’s Air Force shot down.

The recent unwanted Turkish military incursion into Iraq’s Mosul region, ostensibly to train fighters linked to Iraqi Kurdistan’s president, Massoud Barzani, shows further that Turkey will be the battering ram of the planned Saudi conquest of Syrian and Iraqi oilfields, wrapped in the banner of Jihad and Allah.

And on December 18 Turkey revealed it is building a military base in Qatar, a key financier of DAESH as well as Al Qaeda’s Al Nusra in Syria. Turkey’s Ambassador stated the Turkish base, which will station some 3,000 Turkish troops on the Persian Gulf base, which will include ground troops, air force and naval personnel, as well as instructors and special forces, will be for the purpose of confronting “common enemies” in the region. “Turkey and Qatar face common problems about developments in the region and uncertain policies of other countries…We confront common enemies,” Turkey’s Doha Ambassador stated. Now could those “common enemies” just possibly be Syria’s Assad who in 2009 refused a Qatar gas pipeline proposal in favor of remaining Russia’s ally in gas? Could they be Iran, whose own giant North Pars gas field is a geophysical extension in Iranian waters of Qatar’s gas in the Persian Gulf?
