John Lennon on Non-Violence and Humour

As we have seen lately in Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Tunisia, Bahrain and Greece, peaceful demonstrations and protests don’t always work out as intended. Either some third-party nut heads will join in, smash some windows, turn over cars, lit garbage dumpsters, throw stones, etc – or the riot police will show up, making sure it isn’t peaceful any longer.

Violence always yields more violence and people like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and John Lennon have proven to us that non-violence, non-compliancy, civil disobedience, and even humour, are the things that authorities don’t know how to handle. Always remember that!
